This year’s theme is, Time’s up! Nurses. Action. Now.  The time is here to own our profession and take action as nursing leaders by advocating our positions and key issues with state legislators.  Sessions will include legislative issues MONL supports and opposes and updates from the House and Senate health policy committees. This event will be on a virtual platform all attendees can view from the comfort of their home or office.

OBJECTIVES:

• Discuss ways to find state legislators in your district whose support may be solicited.
• Review effective means by which to communicate to an elected official.
• Describe ways to become familiar with legislation and issues of significance to nursing and healthcare.
• Describe the advocacy role nurses can play to improve/attain healthcare equity.
